Screen Canberra is proud to partner with Bus Stop Films, a pioneering, not-for-profit organisation using filmmaking and the film industry to raise the profile of people living with disabilities and other marginalised groups, on both sides of the camera.
Through a collaborative partnership, we support the local delivery of Bus Stop Films’ Accessible Film Studies Program in an accessible, creative learning environment.
The Accessible Film Studies Program is taught by industry professionals, with the assistance of disability support workers and is the only screen industry program in the ACT that is accessible and aimed at people living with a disability. Students have the opportunity to learn all things filmmaking in a supportive environment, right here in Canberra.

In 2020, we helped Bus Stop Films bring their inclusive filmmaking program to Canberra for the first time. Take a peek behind the scenes at all the fun that the class had learning and collaborating throughout the program.
The year-long program is based on their award-winning Accessible Film Studies curriculum and inclusive learning philosophy. The goal is to see students shine and build transformative life skills including; improved social and communication skills, develop friendships, increased confidence and work ready skills.
Students who enrol in the program will benefit from exclusive workshops, excursions, workplace opportunities, and will even work collaboratively on a film project.
Enrolments open in November of each year for the following year and the Canberra course is run on Saturdays from February to December.
