Applications open for New Kids on the Block 2025
Friday, 4 April
New Kids on the Block has been created by Screenworks with support from Screen NSW, Screen Queensland, and Screen Canberra to help emerging and early career filmmakers attend the annual Regional to Global forum in Lennox Head for the first time. As well as financial support to travel, the New Kids on the Block program helps to address the anxiety of being a ‘New Kid’ at any event, providing in-person support for all successful applicants.
Each of the selected participants will receive $1000 to go towards their registration, travel and accommodation. They will be introduced to the other program participants in the weeks leading up to the Forum, attend a New Kids on the Block welcome event, get a venue and program walk through, and priority access to selected opportunities. They will also be introduced to Screenworks staff and key guest speakers over the three-day forum.
There will be five applicants selected from New South Wales, three from North and Far North Queensland, and up to two from Canberra.
Screenworks’ annual Regional to Global provides an incredible networking opportunity for attendees to forge connections with key industry decision makers and filmmakers who can help take their projects to the next level.
Celebrating its 25th year, Screenworks will be delivering one of its most exciting programs yet with an impressive lineup of guest speakers from leading Australian producers, sales agents, broadcasters, streamers, agency representatives, and industry guilds. There will be interactive panel sessions, inclusive forum discussions, workshops, roundtable talks, one-on-one meetings and lots of pitching and networking.
This is an opportunity to feel like a VIP at the biggest regional screen industry event.
