SCREEN AUSTRALIA BACKS TWO-ACT GAMES
Monday, 21 September
Screen Australia has announced over $2.1 million in games funding across 41 projects nationally, backing two ACT developers as part of the round. It’s the first Screen Australia games funding to land in Canberra since 2025, and we couldn’t be prouder of our local talent.
Super Sphere FX, from solo developer Justin Hogie (Microvania), is a micro-scale open-world platformer where players spin, boost and pull off stunts through a retro 3D world as they find their place as the first mixed-race being. The project has also received artsACT funding this year.
Wide (working title), from solo developer Elliot Schultz, reimagines everyday life as secret cricket practice in disguise.
Catch both Justin and Elliot at the GCAP Local Lounge during Melbourne International Games Week (MIGW).
