Screen Canberra Welcomes New Board Members

Screen Canberra announces the appointment of two new board members, Lee Naimo and Genevieve Butler, welcoming a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives during an exciting time for the organisation and the ACT screen sector.

With the ACT Government’s renewed commitment to supporting the creative industries, including growing the local screen and digital games industry, strong leadership and governance have never been more important. These appointments enable Screen Canberra to continue serving the evolving needs of the sector and capitalise on the momentum building across the region.

Lee Naimo brings national industry experience, with a games and online content focus to the board. “Throughout my time at Screen Australia, I was fortunate enough to see so many incredible projects that showcased the talented creatives across the country. The ACT is no exception; and is a screen sector I am looking forward to supporting. I can’t wait to get started,” says Lee.

Genevieve Butler, who brings extensive legal and governance expertise, replaces former Finance and Audit member Lisa Barlin. “I am delighted to be joining a wonderful Board of leaders at Screen Canberra at such an exciting time for the industry, and I am looking forward to help drive the strategic direction of the organisation,” says Genevieve.

Screen Canberra extends its sincere thanks to outgoing board member Lisa Barlin and former Chair, David Court, for their outstanding service and contribution. David’s leadership has been instrumental in guiding the organisation through a period of strategic growth.

We are also delighted to announce Vicki Williams FCA GAICD as the new Chair of the Screen Canberra Board. Vicki’s leadership will help steer the organisation through its next chapter.

Holly Trueman, CEO of Screen Canberra, welcomed the new appointments.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Lee and Genevieve to the Screen Canberra Board. Their combined experience in games, online content, legal and financial governance adds a dynamic new layer of expertise that will help shape the future of the ACT screen sector.”

“With continued support from the ACT Government and a fast-growing creative economy, these appointments come at a pivotal time. They align perfectly with our vision to foster a world-class screen industry in Canberra that is innovative, inclusive, and future-focused.”
