Austin earns major Logie nominations

Congratulations to the team behind ABC comedy Austin, which has received three nominations at this year’s TV WEEK Logie Awards. Screen Canberra is delighted to see the production recognised on the national stage.
The series, its cast and creative team have been recognised across key comedy categories:
SILVER LOGIE — Best Lead Actor in a Comedy

Screen Canberra proudly supported Austin alongside the ACT Government through the CBR Screen Investment Fund, and we are thrilled to see the second series receive this recognition. It is a strong industry endorsement of the work of Northern Pictures, Lincoln Pictures and of the whole creative team behind the series.
Filmed in the ACT, Austin brings humour, warmth and inclusive storytelling to the screen while placing Canberra firmly in view. From the amazing Shine Dome to the city’s distinctive bus shelters, the series captures a side of Canberra that is instantly recognisable to locals and memorable for audiences across Australia and overseas.
Beyond its showcase of the capital, Austin has made a meaningful contribution to the local screen sector. The production brought investment into the region and created valuable training, employment and professional development opportunities for Canberra-based crew.
It is especially exciting to see Michael Theo and Ben Miller both nominated for the Silver Logie for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy. We wish the entire cast and crew every success at the Logies. Canberra will be cheering them on.
