Expressions of Interest are now open for four ACT screen practitioners to attend the Australian International Movie Convention (AIMC) on the Gold Coast from 26–29 October 2026.
Now in its 79th year, AIMC is the Southern Hemisphere’s premier cinema industry event, bringing together exhibitors, distributors, filmmakers and cinema industry leaders from Australia and around the world.
The convention provides opportunities to:
- Connect with local and international exhibitors, distributors and industry professionals
- Hear the latest industry insights, market trends and innovations shaping the future of cinema
- Attend distributor presentations, advance screenings and first looks at upcoming releases
- Build relationships and expand your professional network
- Gain insight into the changing cinema and distribution landscape.
The program also includes the Screen Australia Masterclass on Monday 26 October, bringing together mid-career and senior Australian filmmakers with exhibitors, distributors, filmmakers, marketers, publicists and screen agency executives.
Who can apply?
Screen Canberra is seeking four ACT-based screen practitioners with a demonstrated track record in the screen industry who would benefit from attending AIMC as part of their professional and career development.
Applicants will be asked to provide a short professional biography, CV and details of their screen industry experience, as well as outline why they wish to attend AIMC, the professional outcomes they hope to achieve and how the opportunity will support their career development.
Successful applicants must be available to attend both the Screen Australia Masterclass on 26 October and the AIMC Convention from 27–29 October.
Please note: The Masterclass and Convention are held in person on the Gold Coast. Screen Canberra is unable to provide funding towards travel or accommodation.

Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) through the Screen Canberra SmartyGrants portal.
EOIs close at midnight on Thursday 1 October 2026.
Successful applicants will be notified on Friday 2 October 2026.
