The firearm industry in Canberra is regulated by the FIREARMS ACT 1996 and the PROHIBITED WEAPONS ACT 1996. Without necessary approval from the ACT Firearms Registry, imitation firearms are illegal to use on Film and Television Productions.
In the ACT we do not have any theatrical armourers, however, a responsible person on the Production Team can work with ACT Firearms Registry to apply for a permit.
