Position Vacant: Investment Fund Manager

About the role

We are on the lookout for an Investment Fund Manager to join our team and be part of our journey supporting the Canberra Screen sector. Reporting to the CEO you will be charged with administrating funding decisions for our industry funds.

You will be reporting to the Screen Canberra CEO and Board on TV and Film development and production financing applications in all genres (Drama, Children’s, Documentaries). In this role you will liaise with industry practitioners to provide information and advice regarding applications and will also work closely with applicants to ensure funded projects are successfully completed and delivered. Knowing good story and good business is key to this position.

The Investment Fund Manager will have responsibilities gathering data and papers for reporting to our board and government officials quarterly. We are a small team so you will need to be a team player and have a can-do attitude.

About Screen Canberra

Screen Canberra is a not-for-profit organisation that supports the development and growth of the screen industry in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). We assist local and visiting productions in realising their creative visions through funding, initiatives and by connecting producers with the local industry and locations.

Our aim is to build a stronger ACT screen industry that contributes to a diverse local economy and creative industry through the production of local, interstate, and international film, television and digital media projects.

About you – selection criteria

  • Industry experience in the creative or innovation sectors.
  • Proven ability to make impartial and impactful decisions with sound judgment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with diplomacy and sensitivity.
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
  • Strong grant administration skills including the use of Smarty Grants and Excel.
  • Experience in creating guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Attention to detail and experience reading legal documents and contracting.
  • A team player with an inquisitive mindset.

Great to have:

  • Clear knowledge of production budgets, recoupment structures and other financial matters around content creation and distribution.
  • Knowledge of the Australian and international screen industry, including key players and trends.
  • Be able to provide advice on creative and other related matters in production and development to maximise the success of the project.

Offered as an initial 18-month full time position based in the Canberra office. Part-time will be considered for the right candidate. If you are passionate about content creation and ready to make an impact, we invite you to submit your expression of interest.

In return you will work from our office based in Canberra and become part of a friendly team helping build and support creative screen industry. The pay is negotiable around experience and hours. There will also be the opportunity to attend some industry conferences and obtain further training.
