Screen Canberra Farewells Senior Fund Manager Sophie Harper

Screen Canberra’s Senior Fund Manager Sophie Harper has announced she is leaving the organisation. Sophie has spent the past four years managing funding programs including the $5 Million CBR Screen Fund for the ACT Government, which has significantly contributed to the growth and success of the local screen industry.

During Sophie’s four years in the role, Screen Canberra has committed over $2.5 million in funding to support over 30 distinct projects, including Feature Films, Documentaries and TV Drama, the vast majority of which have ACT residents in key creative roles. ACT expenditure from these funded projects is estimated at nearly $20 million.

“I am proud of the work that we have accomplished during my time at Screen Canberra” said Sophie.  “It has been an honour to work with so many talented, dedicated, creative individuals and to have had the opportunity to support the growth of the local screen industry. While I am sad to be leaving, I am excited about the future of the local industry and will be watching and cheering as it continues to grow and thrive.”

Screen Canberra is committed to continuing to support the local screen industry through its various funding programs and initiatives, with a focus on developing and nurturing local talent.

Monica Penders, CEO of Screen Canberra says “We are grateful for all of Sophie’s contributions to Screen Canberra and wish her all the best in her future endeavours. We will continue to build on the successes of our funding programs and support the local screen industry through new initiatives and programs.”
